Introducing our Braided Dacron Jesses, the perfect accessory for your bird of prey. Crafted from high-quality Dacron material, these jesses are both strong and durable, designed to withstand the rigors of falconry.
Our Mews Jesses are designed to allow you to easily slip through the anklet grommet and keep your raptor secure while weathering. The jesses are designed with an opening of ~1.5″ long at the bottom to allow use with most falconry swivels to securely tether your raptor. These jesses come in a standard length and diameter of;
- Micro Jesses are ~4″ (100mm) long & ~0.1″ (2.5 mm) in diameter
- Micro LONG Jesses are ~6″ (150mm) long & ~0.1″ (2.5 mm) in diameter
- Hawk\Falcon Jesses are ~7.5″ (190mm) long & ~0.25″ (5 mm) in diameter
- Heavy Jesses are ~ 8″ (205mm) long & ~0.3″ (7.5 mm) in diameter
- Eagle Jesses are ~12″ (305mm) long & ~0.3″ (7.5mm) in diameter
making them suitable for use with almost every raptor. The button end of the jesses is made with a very secure Rose sennet knot and reinforced with epoxy to ensure a long reliable life of our equipment.
The Flying Jesses are designed to allow you to slip into your raptor’s anklets before taking flight but may need to be secured in place with a zip-tie to keep them from coming out during the hunt. The Heavy/Eagle ones will stay in the anklets due to the clip opening at the bottom of the jesses if you are using 8mm or 5/16″ grommets without needing to use zip-ties. The flying jesses feature a smaller snap opening at the bottom, (~1/4 – 3/8″ long) which helps prevent the opening from snagging on branches during the hunt but also allows you to safely tether them when needed with a French clip or Coast lock swivel.
